The EMC Directive Applies to Component Power Supplies

All ARCH power supply units are categorized as components power supply. According to regulation of EMC, please install the power supply within system and measure the EMC from the output load. The result is in accordance with application and assembly of the end product. To test the component (power supply unit) alone is for references only. Interpretation of EU document “Guide for the EMC Directive 2004/108/EC”; product such as adaptor, external adaptor which end users will attached directly to finished appliances must apply EMC regulations; in contrast component power supply is incorporated by manufactures into enclosures of finished appliances so is ruled out of EMC regulations. Out of consideration of end systems must apply EMC regulations that Arch power supply units are tested to meet the EMC requirements which listed on datasheet and EMC reports.

ARCH standard power supply units used by end customers for many different applications and are unable to be tested after incorporated inside the end systems. But put into consideration mainly the end systems are metal enclosures so will put most of Class I power supplies on metal plates to conduct EMI testing (illustration as following, some specified models will have different testing methods though, please refer to how to connect to test stated on the EMC reports), and use resistive load (simulated load) to test (Class II power supply then will be tested without connecting to any metal board and FG); Particular usages such as LED lighting then will use LED light output to test (please follow the standards stated the EMC report). The above mentioned EMI qualification all tested by third party laboratories and CE declarations are made and signified by the testing report. As well as non-periodic inspected to ensure all ARCH products have met the requirements of the regulations.

GREEN POLICY

1. All products are compliance with RoHS standard.
2. The factory gets the ISO 14001 in 2004, and keeps improving the waste disposal method.
3. Since 2009, for small power AC-DC converters all meet the No-Load power consumption < 0.3watts requirement.
4. Since 2009, all switching power supply with PFC function and efficiency is above 90%.
5. The factory insists to use long life time components with good quality production processing, and control the defective rate below 0.1%. All these factors keep the power supply life time more than 3 years, this would help to prevent from waste of resources.

The factory have initiated all series of product to comply with RoHS regulations to minimize the impact on environment from 2006. Not only reducing the pollution, but also taking more responsibility to the earth we live. The report verifies the facts that ARCH is capable to monitor RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) manufacturing process, and its manufacturing quality achieves 100% lead-free quality.
